A couple of weeks ago, as EZ was recuperating from bronchitis, and I was battling one of the worst cold/sinus infections I can remember, we awoke to the sound of leaf blowers. Lo and behold, some amazing friends from our church, ranging in age from about 12 to 85, were in our yard blowing and raking an acre's worth of leaves on a chilly Saturday morning!
Let me tell you, we have ALOT of trees and there is simply no way we can keep up with the leaves as they continually fall this time of year. As more and more grass and ground became visible, the walls of leaves began to grow! EZ insisted on joining them...that is him in the right foreground with the backpack blower on. They all spent 2 1/2 hours, raking, blowing, and hauling leaves. We hardly recognized the yard when they were finished, and were deeply touched by this act of kindness. During the course of EZ's battle with Multiple Myeloma, we have experienced the very best in people ...generosity, self sacrifice, unconditional love, tenderness, understanding and compassion. We feel undeserving and truly blessed.
So sweet of them. Can't believe all those leaves!
ReplyDeleteWow that is a lot of leaves and a lot of work. So wonderful of them to do that for you guys again. I know you all appreciated it so much.
ReplyDeleteThese gentlemen and youth again showed the love of Christ through their act of kindness to us. Without their help, I would have finished blowing these leaves sometime in 2013! Thank You again!
ReplyDeleteI hope EZ gets better soon, Keep me in the loop and what wonderful brothers and sister in Christ!!! What would we do without them?
ReplyDeleteWhat entirely wonderful friends to help you with this huge task - this world of ours is full of so many unsung heroes - it is good that these kind friends are praised here for their kindness.
